A youth was stabbed to death in an attack by muggers at Rampura Bridge on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Md Hasan, 22, a resident of village Matibhanga in Barishal鈥檚 Bhandaria upazila.
He was a Leguna driver and he used to live with his family in Dhaka鈥檚 Hatirjheel area.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost in-charge Md Faruk said that Hasan was brought to the hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead at about 11:00pm.
The body was kept at the hospital morgue and the incident was reported to the concerned police station, he added.
The deceased鈥檚 uncle Amir Hossain, who brought Hasan to DMCH, said that Hasan was stopped by muggers at Rampura Bridge on his way home.
鈥楾he muggers stabbed Hasan with a knife and ran away as he refused to give his money and mobile phone to them,鈥� he said.
