
Bangladesh University Grants Commission will adopt a plan to develop its headquarters, its chairman鈥檚 residence and expand residential facilities for officers and employees.
UGC chairman Professor SMA Faiz said this on Monday after visiting the UGC chairman鈥檚 office-cum-residence at Dhanmondi in Dhaka and the UGC residential area located at Mirpur 14.
UGC members Professor Mohammad Tanjimuddin Khan, Professor Mohammad Anwar Hossain, UGC secretary Fakhrul Islam, Director of Planning and Development Mohammad Maksudur Rahman Bhuiyan, Director of General Services, Estate and Engineering Jafar Ahmad Jahangir, additional director of UGC and Residential Area Welfare Committee President Md Shaheen Siraj, senior assistant director and general secretary Shariful Islam, president of the employee union Anwar Hossain along with members of the welfare committee and related officers and employees were present.
Welfare committee president Shaheen Siraj informed the UGC chairman about the construction of a new multi-storied building, construction of a permanent Jame Masjid and community centre, upward extension and renovation of the boundary wall, and strengthening of security to solve the housing crisis of UGC officials and employees.
Besides, the General Services, Estate and Engineering Department presented the design of the residential area before the UGC chairman and members, said a press release.
