
Police have recovered a licensed pistol which is registered to former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan in Monipuripara area of the capital.
Confirming the matter, Dhaka Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner (media) Talebur Rahman on Wednesday told 抖阴精品 that a team from Tejgaon police station retrieved the firearm on Tuesday night.
It was found in a shopping bag on the street in the area at about 9:00pm on Tuesday, he said.
Asaduzzaman, also a former lawmaker for Dhaka-12 constituency, is accused in multiple cases, including murder.
Like many others, he went into hiding after deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina fled the country amid student-led mass uprising on August 5.
Acting on a tip off, police conducted a raid in the area where a shopping bag was found abandoned on the road between house 132 and 139 of Manipuripara under Tejgaon police station.
Two pistol magazines, 25 rounds of bullets, five cleaning kits and the pistol licence were also found during the drive, said a DMP press release issued on Wednesday.
According to the press release, police, later found that the owner of the pistol is former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan.
Legal action was under process regarding the incident, police said.
