Three people were killed in a road accident on Satkhira-Khulna highway in Satkhira Sadar upazila on early Thursday, said police.
The deceased are Arizul Gazi, 28, son of Akbar Ali Gazi of Jashore鈥檚 Jhikargacha upazila, Asadul Islam Fakir, 55, son of Shamsur Kabir of Satkhira鈥檚 Tala upazila, and Abdus Selim, 35, son of Abdul Aziz of Tala upazila.
Confirming the incident, Sadar police station鈥檚 sub-inspector Biswajit Sarkar said that a speeding truck ran over a motorbike leaving a biker and two pillion riders killed on the spot in Binerpota BSCIC area on the highway in the early morning.
After recovery, the bodies were sent to Satkhira Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations, he said.
The bodies would be handed over to the families after autopsy, he said, adding that no one so far had been detained in this connection.
