Bangladesh's interim government home adviser lieutenant general (retired) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Monday said that there was no possible security threat to the law and order situation during the celebrations of the Victory Day.
‘By the grace of Allah, there is no security threat to the law and order situation of the country on the Victory Day, as the day is not for any particular group or individual, rather it belongs to all people of the country,’ he said.
The adviser made these remarks while talking to journalists after a meeting at the ministry over the overall security measures and the law-order situation ahead of Victory Day.
He also asked all concerned to take necessary measures to ensure smooth vehicular movement on Victory Day, saying, ‘Currently there is no problem regarding the law and order situation.’
Jahangir Alam said that the colour and shape of the national flag should not be different from one place to another.
‘To mark the day, all concerned have been requested to conduct meetings maintaining guidelines and standards set by the government,’ he added.
Senior officials of law enforcement agencies were present in the meeting.
