The High Court on Thursday instructed the Election Commission to give registration to Bangladesh Development Party as a political party.
The High Court bench, comprising justices Shashanka Shekhar Sarkar and AKM Rabiul Hassan, passed the order in a writ petition filed by chairman of the BDP AKM Anwarul Islam.
He submitted all relevant documents to the EC on October 26 in 2022 for giving registration to the BDP as a political party.
Barrister Ehsan Abdullah Siddiqui moved the writ on behalf of the petitioner.
