Biman Bangladesh Airlines has closed the IATA Operational Safety Audit for the 12th time and renewed the IOSA registration valid up to December 14, 2026.

The audit was conducted in September 1-5 by a five-member audit team from the IATA accredited Audit Organisation, Argos Pros, a USA company, said a press release on Thursday.

The IOSA renewal audit is conducted every two years. IOSA is an internationally recognised evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines is an IATA member airline. To retain IATA membership, we must have IOSA registration, mentioned the press release.

IOSA registration is also considered one of the prerequisites for codeshare agreement with other airlines, and in some countries, IOSA registration is required to get a license for regular operation.

Md Shafiqur Rahman, managing director and CEO of Biman, emphasised that safety procedures and keeping abreast with the latest industry developments were part of our daily operational services.

He stated, ‘IOSA registration is considered as an international recognition of operational safety, security and compliance for the national flag carrier.’

Shafiqur Rahman also mentioned, ‘IOSA registration builds a positive reputation and customer confidence in Biman’s operations and helps in gaining access to new markets and maintaining business partnerships.’
