
The Education and Research Institute of Dhaka University and the Directorate of Primary Education jointly organised a workshop titled Draft Findings on Feasibility Study for the Pre-Service Teacher Education for Primary Teachers at the ERI on Tuesday.
The DU pro-vice-chancellor for education Professor Mamun Ahmed inaugurated the daylong workshop as chief guest with the ERI acting director Professor Hosne Ara Begum in the chair, said a press release.
National Academy for Primary Education director general Farid Ahmed and chief of research team Professor SM Hafizur Rahman spoke at the workshop as special guests.
Mamun Ahmed hoped that this type of workshop would play a significant role in adopting and implementing various education-related schemes. He also emphasised on further strengthening education-related research to move society and the country forward.
Forty officials from various educational institutions, including the Primary Teacher Training Institute, participated in the workshop.
Research and workshops will be organised on eight topics in phases.
DU Education and Research Institute and the Directorate of Primary Education are implementing the programme with funding from the World Bank.
