
The department of computer science and engineering of United International University has organised a two-day contest for college and university students titled UIU CSE Fest 2025 commenced at the UIU campus in Dhaka on Friday.
Professor Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, adviser, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, was present as chief guest while information and communication technology division secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury was present as special guest at the inaugural ceremony, which was presided over by UIU vice-chancellor Professor Md Abul Kashem Mia, said a press release.
CSE department associate professor Suman Ahmmed, also organising secretary of the festival, delivered welcome speech at the ceremony, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Professor Mohammad Nurul Huda, head of the department.聽
Around 1500 students from about 80 public and private universities and 30 colleges are participating in the festival in different segments, including Blockchain Olympiad, ICT Olympiad, Project Show, Line Following Robot and Programming Contest.
Fouzul Kabir Khan called for working for the welfare of people while supporting human values along with technical education, encouraging students to make technology relevant to the welfare of the people in solving problems of the country.
Shish Haider Chowdhury thanked the UIU for organising such a festival at the national level and announced that the ICT division would always support such programmes.
The faculty members, students, officials, academicians, government high officials, ICT experts, journalists and other distinguished guests were present in the programme.
