Bangladesh Agricultural University has honoured three vice-chancellors of three universities and newly appointed director general of the department of livestock services for their significant contributions to the country’s livestock sector.

The event, hosted by BAU’s faculty of veterinary science, took place at the university’s Teachers’ Complex in Mymensingh on Saturday, said a press release.


BAU honoured Sylhet Agricultural University VC Professor Md Alimul Islam, Patuakhali Science and Technology University VC Professor Kazi Rafiqul Islam and Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University VC Professor Mohammad Lutfur Rahman and livestock services department DG Md Abu Sufian.

All four are distinguished alumni of the BAU’s faculty of veterinary science.

BAU VC Professor AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan attended as chief guest at the event, which was presided over by dean of veterinary science faculty Professor Md Bahanur Rahman.
