Three people, including a journalist, were killed and five others injured in road accidents in Gazipur and Khulna on Sunday.
抖阴精品 correspondent in Gazipur reported that two people were killed when a covered van hit the motorcycle they were riding on the Dhaka-Mymensing Highway at Sadar upazila in Gazipur.
The deceased are Mijanul Kabir Masud, 40, and Samrat, 35. Both hailed from Sripur upazila in the district.
Mijanul worked as the Sripur corresponden t for the Daily Dainik Bani.
The police arrested the driver, Sobuj, 25, with the van.
Gazipur Salna Highway police station officer-in-charge said that legal action in this regard was under way.
Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that a youth was killed and five others sustained injuries as their van was rammed by a bus in the Madhur Mollah Dangi area under Dumuria upazila in Khulna.
The deceased is Mofizul Islam.
Sub-inspector of highway police Kamrul Islam said that when a van with four passengers on board was heading towards Satkhira from Chuknagar, a bus from behind hit the van at around 10:30am, leaving all of its passengers injured.
All of the injured were taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital where Mofizul succumbed to his injuries, he added.
