The 23rd founding anniversary of Daffodil International University was observed with daylong gala events on the university campus at Birulia, Savar in Dhaka on Saturday.
The programs of the celebration included bringing rally, discussion, forming human logo, games and sports and dance performance by the university students based on the theme song of the university, said a press release.聽
Md Sabur Khan, chairman, board of trustees of the DIU, was present as chief guest at the programme, which was presided over by Professor M Lutfar Rahman, vice-chancellor of the DIU.
Conducted by Amit Kumar Mazumder, deputy director of Directorate of Student Affairs, the programme was attended by pro-VC of the DIU Professor SM Mahbubul Haque Majumder, treasurer Hamidul Haque Khan, faculty of science and information technology dean Professor Syed Akter Hossain, faculty of health and life sciences dean Professor M Bellal Hossain, faculty of business and entrepreneurship dean Professor Masum Iqbal, faculty of humanities and social sciences dean Liza Sharmin and registrar of the university Nadir Bin Ali.
Sabur Khan expressed his satisfaction with the continuous development of the university and hoped that the DIU would be the first skill focused university in Bangladesh and not a single student of this university would be unemployed.
The DIU has maintained a prestigious position in all the indicators of the world ranking and in the coming days this university will go much further, said Lutfar Rahman.
Around 22,000 students, teachers and officials of the DIU gathered at the university campus, added the press release.
