Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, former chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission, was arrested from the capital鈥檚 Dhanmondi area on Tuesday night.
A team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police detective branch arrested him at about 10:45pm on Tuesday, DMP DB joint commissioner for South Mohammad Nasirul Islam said.
鈥楽hibli Rubayat is now in our custody on Mintoo Road. We are yet to fix the case in which he was arrested,鈥� Nasirul told 抖阴精品.
About two weeks ago, home ministry cancelled passports of nine individuals, including Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, former chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission, and former commissioner Sheikh Shamsuddin.
