A clash broke out between students of Dhaka College and City College in Dhanmondi area of Dhaka on Thursday.
Confirming the matter, additional deputy commissioner (Dhanmondi zone) of Ramna Division Jisanul Haque said that the clash broke out at about 4:00pm near Popular Medical College Hospital in Dhanmondi-1.
鈥業nitially we were informed that City College students assaulted some Dhaka College students in the afternoon, sparking tensions between the groups,鈥� he said.
He said that City College students tried to bring out a march towards the Dhaka University area with a banner but police dispersed them.
鈥楶olice dispersed the students from the streets, but the situation remains tense, particularly in the Science Lab area. Additional police were deployed in the area,鈥� ADC Jisanul said.
He also said that traffic remained normal during the incident.
