Local government, rural development and cooperatives and youth and sports adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain on Tuesday said that all levels of the local government department institutions should take appropriate steps to eliminate the emerging law and order situation with the help of law enforcement agencies and public.
The adviser was speaking as the chief guest at an event on the occasion of the National Local Government Day at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka, said a press relese.
He said that there were many challenges in controlling the law and order situation, which had to be addressed with the collective efforts of all.聽 鈥楨lections should be held at least in the city corporations and municipalities quickly to reduce citizen suffering,鈥� he opined.
He also said that After the July Uprising-2024, the people of Bangladesh wanted to see positive changes in all areas. 鈥楤ut still many political leaders are making embarrassing statements.鈥�
Tofail Ahmed, head of the Local Government Reform Commission, delivered a speech as special guest. Local government department secretary Md Nizam Uddin presided over the event, while AKM Tariqul Alam, additional secretary (administration) delivered welcome speech. Officers/employees of the institutions of the local government department were also present.
