A housewife was stabbed to death allegedly by muggers at a house at Ambagicha of South Keraniganj area in Dhaka Tuesday evening.
The victim is Sima Begaum, 40, wife of Akter Hossain of the area.
鈥楳y wife was returning home with our 7-year-old child after her tuition in our area. Muggers attacked her on the way and she stormed into a nearby house for safety but the attackers stabbed her indiscriminately entering the house and took away her ear rings and chain,鈥� said Akter Hossain.
South Keraniganj police officer-in-charge Mazharaul Islam, however, said that the incident happened over extramarital affairs.
He said that they suspected the woman went to the house of a youth with whom she developed an extramarital affair.
The OC said that they had detained a 20-year-old youth, Emon Hossain, in this connection.
