Police arrested four people in connection with a robbery in four school buses on an educational trip along the Ghatail-Sagardighi road in Tangail鈥檚 Ghatail upazila.
The arrested individuals are Aynal Haque, 41, Md Fazlu, 37, Aynal Haque, 37, and Nasir, 35.
Law enforcement also recovered some of the stolen cash and goods from their possession during their operations.
Tangail superintendent of police Mizanur Rahman confirmed that intelligence teams conducted multiple raids on Wednesday, leading to the arrests.
He added that efforts were ongoing to apprehend other suspects based on information provided by the arrested.
According to Ghatail police station, Mohammad Khalilur Rahman, head teacher of Suaitpur High School in Fulbaria upazila of Mymensingh, filed a case on Tuesday night, accusing up to 12 unidentified individuals.
He reported that 10 mobile phones and approximately Tk 1 lakh were stolen from students and teachers.
The robbery took place Tuesday morning when a gang blocked the Ghatail-Sagardighi road at Lakshoner Badha using Gazari trees. The robbers then looted cash and mobile phones from teachers and students traveling from Mymensingh to Natore on four school buses as part of a study tour.
