The police recovered the body of the father of a rape victim from a bush near his house at Barguna Sadar early Wednesday allegedly after receiving threats over filing a rape case.
Members of the victim鈥檚 family alleged that he was murdered by associates of the accused rapist, who was currently in jail.
Barguna police officer-in-charge Dewan Jaglul Hasan told 抖阴精品 that the police recovered the body at about 2:00am on Wednesday.
鈥極ur initial investigation suggests that the person was murdered. Further investigation is underway, and legal action will be taken accordingly, he said, adding that the process oif filing a case in this regard is under way.
According to the police, the deceased worked at a poultry shop in the town.
Barguna OC Jaglul said that the deceased鈥檚 daughter, who is a Class V student, was allegedly raped by one of their neighbours on March 5.
The next day, the victim鈥檚 father filed a case against Shibu Das, 30, and the police arrested the accused, who later was sent to jail, he said.
Since Shibu鈥檚 arrest, his associates allegedly threatened the victim family and pressuring them to withdraw the case, the family claimed.
The scheduled court appearance date for the deceased was reportedly on Wednesday.
抖阴精品 staff correspondent in Sylhe, meanwhile,t reported that two persons were sent to jail on Wednesday for raping a mentally challenged woman on a hillock of a rubber plant in Sylhet on Tuesday afternoon.
The suspects are Mohammad Rakib Miah, a resident of Dalaipara village under Biman Bandar police station, and Abdur Rahim, of Uttar Mokamer Gol in the Pirer Bazar area under the same police station.聽
Sylhet Biman Bandar police officer-in-charge Syed Anisur Rahman told 抖阴精品 that the arrested were produced before the court on Wednesday after filing a case.
鈥楾he court recoded their confessional statements under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and then ordered to send them to jail,鈥� the police officer said.
Local residents said that the accomplices raped the mentally challenged woman at about 1:00pm after taking her to a place on a hillock of Chharargang Rubber Plant at Khadimnagar union under the Shah Paran police station.
At one point, the rubber plant workers working there, saw the victim lying on the top of the hillock and took her to the Osmani Medical College Hospital after rescuing her in a serious condition.
