Two assistant sub-inspectors of Savar model police station were closed for negligence of duty.
The punitive action was taken against Abdus Sattar and Sarwar Hossain, said officer-in-charge of Savar model police station Jewel Mia.
Additional superintendent of Dhaka police Shahinur Kabir said in the wake of mugging incidents on buses and highways a check-post was installed on Dhaka-Aricha Highway at Bank Town area in Savar.
But the two ASIs were found sitting idle on the road without checking buses passing the area.
