At least fifty people, including women, were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers at Nabiganj upazila in Habiganj on Tuesday morning over an altercation of repaying only Tk fifty.
Local people said that a rickshaw puller Ruhul Amin, son of Bahar Miah of Kanaipur Shantinagar village at the Nabiganj upazila, had owed Tk 50 to his neighbour Rushan Miah, son of Alamgir Miah, as his due rickshaw fare.Â
On Tuesday morning, both of them engaged in a heated altercation after Ruhul asked Rushan to repay his money and Rushan replied he could not pay the amount at that moment, they said.Â
Later at around 10-00 am, the family members and relatives of both Ruhul and Rushan locked in a clash after being armed with locally made weapons, leaving more than fifty people, including several women, of both rival sides injured, the villagers said.
