Both the second-round matches of the ongoing Women鈥檚 BCL concluded without a result, as the teams settled for a draw at their respective venues on Saturday.

The record-filled match between Central and East Zone ended without a result, despite two magnificent centuries from Nigar Sultana Joty and Murshida Khatun.


Their formidable partnership of 238 runs for the third wicket鈥攖he highest in women鈥檚 cricket history鈥攑owered Central Zone to post 528-8 in response to East Zone鈥檚 354 at the Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.

Joty, who became the first female cricketer to reach the three-figure mark, recorded her second consecutive hundred, solidifying her position as the top scorer after Murshida held the title of highest scorer, briefly.

The wicket-keeper batter struck 171 runs off 322 balls, including 18 boundaries, surpassing her previous best of 153 from the first round of the BCL.

Meanwhile, Murshida Khatun, who was unbeaten on 112, went on to score an impressive 170 runs in 283 balls aided by 23 fours.聽

In the other match, North Zone captain Sobhana Mostary hit maiden century (118), which saw her side declare their second innings at 257-5, setting a 275-run target for South at the Bangla Trac Cricket Academy Ground.

Ritu Moni and Misty Rani also contributed 58 and 32 runs, respectively.

In reply, RH Jhelik (49) and Ayesha Rahman (46) fought valiantly, each contributing with forty-plus knocks; however, South could only reach 232-8 before the bails were drawn of the final day.

Right-arm spinner Jannatul Ferdus Sumona, who picked up a fifer in the first innings, claimed another three wickets while Misty and Marufa Akter picked up two wickets apiece.聽
