
Thirteen Secondary School Certificate examinees failed to appear in the public exam that began on Thursday as the school authorities failed to provide them with admit cards in Ukhiya upazila of Cox鈥檚 Bazar.
The 13 students, including 10 girls, from Haldia Palong Ideal School at Nil Bania in the upazila threatened to commit suicide.
The victims said that they went to the school to collect their admit cards but the headmaster of the school failed to provide the documents to them.
Hearing it, all of them broke down in tears and threatened to commit suicide if they were not allowed to sit for the exam later, said witnesses.
Being informed, the guardians of the students along with others staged demonstrations and attacked the school.
On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
The students claimed that they failed to appear the examinations due to negligence of the school authorities.
Mohammad Quamrul Hasan Chowdhury, Ukhiya upazila nirbahi officer said that the matter was informed to the Chattogram Board authorities and necessary steps would be taken after investigation.
