Forward Su Yu-Hsuan scored the winner as Chinese Taipei defeated hosts Bangladesh 1-0 in the second and final match of the their FIFA Women鈥檚 International Friendly series at the Kings Arena in the city on Monday.

Yu-Hsuan, who struck a hat-trick in her side鈥檚 4-0 win in the first match on Friday, scored the all-important goal in the 17th minute of the game.


Lin Ya-Husan produced a cutback from the left side of the box, and Yu-Husan slotted the ball between a Bangladesh defender and keeper Rupna Chakma from six yards out.

English coach Peter Butler鈥檚 charges performed better than in their previous match against a team that is 100 places higher than Bangladesh (140th) in the FIFA Women鈥檚 rankings.

Butler took a risk by dropping senior forward and captain Sabina Khatun from the starting eleven.

His decision paid off, as the hosts performed admirably despite being down a goal and missing their most senior player, Sabina, who had never been dropped from the national team鈥檚 starting lineup since 2010.

Butler also made three changes to the starting eleven, dropping defender Masura Parvin and midfielders Shaheda Akter Ripa and Sumaya Matsushima while calling up defenders Shamsunnahar Sr and Anai Mughini, as well as forward Shamsunnahar Jr.

Bangladesh midfielders Sapna Rani and Munki Akhter came close to having success in the 26th and 29th minutes, respectively.

In the second half, forward Shamsunnahar and midfielder Monika Chakma created threats in the 61st and 69th minutes respectively.

Sabina replaced forward Tohura Khatun in the 78th minute and produced some threats from set pieces.
