The current world champions, Argentina, maintained the top spot following their consecutive wins over Uruguay 1-0 and Brazil 4-1 in the World Cup 2026 qualifiers and increased their ranking points to 1886.16 from 1867.

Spain jumped to second spot from third after their win against the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals in March.

Spain earned 1,855 rating points to stay above France, who dropped to third position with collecting 1,853 points after winning over Croatia in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals also in March.

England and Brazil remained in their previous fourth and fifth positions, respectively, while the Netherlands moved one step up to sixth place, pushing Portugal down to seventh.

Belgium (eighth), Italy (ninth) and Germany (10th) are the other three teams as the top 10 rounded off the list.

Japan remained the highest-ranked team in Asia, maintaining the 15th position, while Myanmar became the biggest climber, jumping up seven steps to place 162nd from the previous 169th.

A total of 245 matches have been played globally since the December 2024 rankings, with teams from Asia, Africa, Oceania, and South America competing in FIFA World Cup 26 qualifiers.
