Super-sub Insan Hossain struck an extra-time winner as defending champions Bashundhara Kings came from a goal down to reach the final of the Federation Cup with a 2-1 win over Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society in the Qualifier-3 match at the Kings Arena in the city on Tuesday.
With the win, three-time champions Kings will take on the 12-time champions Abahani Limited in the 10-team tournament final at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on April 22.
The final will also be the second time that the two teams will meet in two weeks after Abahani beat Kings 4-2 on penalties in the Qualifier-1 match in Cumilla on April 8 to reach the final.聽
Rahmatganj, who earned a 2-1 extra-time win over Brothers Union in the Qualifier-2 match in Mymensingh, made their exit after the day鈥檚 loss to Kings.
After the stipulated time ended 1-1, defender Insan, who replaced Argentine forward Juan Eduardo Leciano in the 105th minute, headed the ball home eight minutes later after a cross by forward Rakib Hossain from the right side.
Earlier, defender Sadd Uddin equalised for Kings in the 82nd minute after Gambian forward Solomon King Kanform gave Rahmatganj the lead six minutes earlier.
Kings pressed hard from the very start of the game, but Rahmatganj survived all those threats before Solomon鈥檚 drive from the top of the six-yard box found the back of the net.
