Bangladesh national women’s football team will play tri-nation friendlies against Jordan and Indonesia from May 31 to June 3 in Amman, as stated by Mahfuza Akter Kiron, the chief of the women’s wing of the Bangladesh Football Federation, on Thursday.
Bangladesh will play the matches as a part of their preparation for the forthcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers campaign in Myanmar.
‘We want to prepare the team for the AFC qualifiers by facing stronger teams. Jordan is ranked 74th and Indonesia is 94th; both are far ahead of us (Bangladesh 133rd) in FIFA rankings. It will help us to have a clear picture of our strength through these matches,’ Kiron told the media at her office.
English coach Peter Butler’s charges will leave for Jordan on May 27. Each team will play each other twice; however, the details of the fixtures have not yet been finalised.
