
The price of gold increased again on Tuesday, just 48 hours after the latest surge, reaching a record high of Tk 1,24,501 a bhori in Bangladesh.
The price of 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 1,516 a bhori (11.664 grams), according to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Jeweller鈥檚 Association on Tuesday.
On Sunday, the price of gold had increased by Tk 2,904 a bhori to Tk 1,22,985 a bhori from Tk 1,20,081 a bhori.
The price of gold increased by Tk 4,421 a bhori in the past two days.
The BAJUS press release said that the new prices would come into effect today.
On Tuesday, the BAJUS standing committee on pricing and price monitoring decided to increase the gold prices further.
As per the new rate, the price of a 21-carat gold has risen to Tk 1,18,833 a bhori from Tk 1,17,398 a bhori, that of 18-carat gold has increased to Tk 1,01,862 a bhori from Tk 1,00,625 a bhori and the price of a traditional gold has gone up to Tk 84,214 a bhori from Tk 83,199 a bhori.
The price of silver remained unchanged.
The current prices for silver are Tk 2,100 a bhori for 22-carat, Tk 2,006 a bhori for 21-carat, Tk 1,715 a bhori for 18-carat and Tk 1,283 a bhori for traditional silver.
