
The price of gold has been increased again on Thursday reaching a record high of Tk 1,26,006 a bhari (11.664 grams) in Bangladesh.
The price of 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 1,505 a bhari, according to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Jeweller鈥檚 Association on the day.
On Tuesday, the price of gold had increased to Tk 1,24,501 a bhari from Tk 1,22,985 a bhari.
The price of gold increased by Tk 5,925 a bhari in the past five days.
The BAJUS press release said that the new prices would come into effect today.
On Thursday, the BAJUS standing committee on pricing and price monitoring decided to increase the gold prices further.
As per the new rate, the price of a 21-carat gold has risen to Tk 1,20,279 a bhari from Tk 1,18,833 a bhari, that of 18-carat gold has increased to Tk 1,03,098 a bhari from Tk 1,01,862 a bhari and the price of a traditional gold has gone up to Tk 85,240 a bhari from Tk 84,214 a bhari.
The price of silver remained unchanged.
The current prices for silver are Tk 2,100 a bhari for 22-carat, Tk 2,006 a bhari for 21-carat, Tk 1,715 a bhari for 18-carat and Tk 1,283 a bhari for traditional silver.
