The Anti-Corruption Commission on Tuesday withdrew the case filed against Anis Ahmed, chief executive officer of MGH Group.
Judge Mohammad Ash-Shams Joglul Hossain of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge鈥檚 Court issued the order.
The judge also relieved Anis Ahmed from the charges of the case.
The ACC submitted an application seeking withdrawal of prosecution of the case under Section 494 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
On December 28, 2022, the ACC filed the case against Anis with its integrated district office in Dhaka-1 on charges of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk 136 crore.
The ACC said that during investigation the accused provided acceptable explanations for Tk 118.80 crore of his wealth. It also said that there was no evidence against him to proceed with this case.
