Leaders of the Communist Party of Bangladesh, at a rally in Dhaka on Friday, said that the Awami League had imposed a fascist rule in the country, seizing the voting rights of the people.
They expressed hope that this misrule would be overturned by a mass uprising.
The CPB organised the rally at the Purana Paltan crossing, chaired by presidium member Shahin Rahman.
General secretary of the party, Ruhin Hossain Prince, asserted that the Awami League government had failed to establish good governance in the country.
He called on all leftist political forces to unite and launch movements to compel the government to resign.
Central leaders of the party, including Anwar Hossain Reza, Paresh Kar, Kazi Ruhul Amin, Abdul Quddus, and others also spoke at the rally.
The event concluded with a protest procession that paraded different city roads.
