The president of Workers Party of Bangladesh and former civil aviation and tourism minister, Rashed Khan Menon, has been placed on a three-day remand for attacking Mirza Abbas, national standing committee member of BNP, during an election campaign in Shegun Bagicha, Dhaka area on December 15, 2018.

Additional chief metropolitan magistrate Mahbubul Haque passed the order as the investigating officer of the case produced Menon before the court on Tuesday with a five-day remand prayer.


According to the case statement, on December 15, 2018, a group of unidentified people equipped with sticks, rods, sharp weapons and cocktails launched an attack on Mirza Abbas and some BNP leaders during the election campaign in front of Segunbagicha kitchen market, leaving them critically injured.
