
A case was filed against 29 Awami League leaders and activists of Tungipara upazila allegedly for vandalising furniture of Swechchhasebak Dal鈥檚 president SM Jilani鈥檚 Patgati village house.
Joint general secretary of Gopalganj district unit of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal and nephew of SM Jilani Julkar Sheikh filed the case with Tungipara police station Wednesday night.
The accused in the case also included 40-50 more unidentified persons, including leaders and activists of the district AL unit, upazila Awami League and other organisations.
According to the case statement, a group of AL leaders and activists of Tungipara unit, led by Md Nazmul Sheikh, on September 13 entered into Jilani鈥檚 house and vandalised chairs, tables and furniture.
Inspector of Tungipara police station Khandkar Aminur Rahman confirmed the matter.
