The Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Thursday directed its affiliates and associated organisations to prevent leaders and activists from other political parties, as well as non-political individuals, from joining any committees of the party at any level.

BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in a press statement said that they observed with deep concern that various political organisations affiliated with the ousted Awami League regime were trying to secure positions within the BNP and its associated and affiliated organisations.

‘Meanwhile, an organisation named Zia Cyber Force has formed a committee at Pabna Science and Technology University using the name of Chatra Dal, giving several Chatra League leaders positions in the committee, which is completely an act of fraud.’ the statement read.

Leaders at all levels of the party must be alert in this regard, Rizvi said in his statement.

The statement also mentioned that various fake organisations have been observed engaging in mischievous activities using the names of the party’s founding chairman, Ziaur Rahman, chairperson Khaleda Zia and acting chairperson Tarique Rahman.

The statement also said that the party had previously alerted all to the formation of these fake organisations and their harmful activities, mentioning that they were not related to the BNP.

‘We once again urge the leaders and activists of BNP along with all its affiliated and associated organisations to remain vigilant about these fake entities,’ the statement read.
