Politicians, academics and professionals at a discussion on Saturday said that Moshiur Rahman Jadu Mia, a close ally of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, was a true politician who worked for establishing democratic rights of the common people and freedom of speech in society.

Moshiur Rahman Jadu Mia Smriti Sangsad organised a day-long photography show on his in the Zahur Hossain Chowdhury conference room at the National Press Club to mark his聽 46th anniversary of death.


Inaugurating the exhibition, Ziaul Haque Milu, the president of Bhashani Smriti Sangsad, said that Moshiur Rahman was a uncompressing politician who was a former senior minster and also former president of the National Awami Party founded by Maulana Bhashani.

The role of Moshiur Rahman in establishing rights of the common people would be remembered for a long time.

General secretary of Jadu Mia Smriti Sangsad Nadim Chowdhury, lawyer Marzia Kabir, leaders of smrtiti sangsad Tarequl Goni and others attended the programme.

Moshiur Rahman Jadu Mia had kept prominent role when Ziaur Rahman formed Bangladesh Nationalist Party.

He died on March 12 in 1979 suffering from old age complications.
