A four-member Bangladesh tennis team left for Bahrain on Monday to take part in the ‘2024 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group-5’ tennis tournament scheduled to be held in Isa Town from November 18 to 24.
A total of 15 teams—host Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Laos, Macau, the Maldives, Mongolia, Yemen, Nepal, Tajikistan, Guam, Turkmenistan, Northern Marina Island, and the Philippines—split into four groups will compete in the round-robin format competition.
The four group champions will then face each other, from where the top two teams will advance to the 2025 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania region Group-4.
Zarif Abrar, Hanif Munna, Rustom Ali, and Din Islam are representing the Bangladesh team in the tournament run by the International Tennis Federation under the Bahrain Tennis Federation management.
