The country鈥檚 jewellers on Saturday increased the price of 22-carat gold by Tk聽1,751 a bhari (11.664 grams), setting the new price of the precious metal at Tk聽1,15,824 a bhari.
The rate was announced in a press release issued by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association, better known as BAJUS.
The standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of BAJUS made the decision.
The price of 21-carat gold increased to Tk聽1,10,575 a bhari from Tk聽1,08,883 a bhari and that of 18-carat gold increased to Tk聽94,770 a bhari from Tk聽93,312 a bhari, the press release said.
The new prices will be effective from today.
Earlier on March 21, the BAJUS set the price of 22-carat gold to Tk聽1,14,073 a bhari.
