The Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday underscored the need for restoring law and order situation in the country.
The chamber observed that if such a situation continues, trade, business and investment will have a huge negative effect.
In a statement, MCCI president Kamran T Rahman said that the situation would also create hindrances to job creation.
He said that the overall activities of the country would be affected without quick improvement in the law and order situation.
It knew through media reports that police have been abstaining from their duties, he added.
He said, 鈥榃e expect that police and law enforcement agencies will carry out their duties and the situation will improve soon.鈥�
He called upon all political parties and people to play a responsible role so normalcy returns.
