Bangladesh Competition Commission member Md Hafizur Rahman formally took charge on Thursday as administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Md Hafizur Rahman was also a former additional secretary to the government.
General council members of the FBCCI and senior officials of FBCCI secretariat were present, among others, on the occasion.
Earlier on Wednesday, the interim government appointed Md Hafizur Rahman as administrator of the FBCCI.
The Ministry of Commerce issued a circular in this regard on Wednesday under section 17 of the Trade Organisations Act, 2022.
According to the circular, the administrator would hand over the responsibilities to the newly elected body of the country鈥檚 apex trade organisation by holding a free and fair election within 120 days and thus apprise the development to the ministry.
