The Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh is set to host a three-day International Trade Fair for Women at the Gulshan Shooting Club in the capital Dhaka to promote women entrepreneurs’ skills, creativity and economic empowerment.

According to a press release, the fair will start on March 6 and conclude on March 8, scheduled to accord with the International Women’s Day. The fair will remain open daily from 10:00am to 8:00pm.

The event will showcase a wide range of handcrafted items, traditional attire, intricately designed fabrics, jewelry and other creative products crafted by women entrepreneurs.

Nasreen Awwal Mintu, the association’s president, announced the event at a press conference on Monday, highlighting that the fair is also part of WEAB’s silver jubilee celebration.

One of the key highlights of this year’s event will be ‘July Corner’, a dedicated space honouring the courageous women who played a vital role in the July uprising.

To further engage women and children, the WEAB has also planned an art competition featuring 300 students from various schools across Dhaka.

‘This event is not just about economic empowerment; it’s about recognising and accelerating women’s contributions to society. By fostering financial independence, we are strengthening the role of women as entrepreneurs and change-makers,’ said Nasreen.

She added that the fair was expected to be a significant step toward expanding opportunities for women entrepreneurs and inspiring future generations.
