The Bangladesh Public Service Commission chairman Md Sohorab Hossain and its 12 members have resigned from their respective posts.

The PSC public relations officer Matiur Rahman confirmed it to ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· on Tuesday.


‘We are yet to receive the resignation letters of two members. But, all of the 14 members have resigned,’ Matiur added.

He, however, said that he was yet to receive resignation letters of other two members — Helaluddin Ahmad and Md Shafiqul Islam. 

The chairman of the Public Service Commission and 12 PSC members have submitted their resignation to the president, said a press release of chief adviser’s press wing.

‘Whereabouts of two members of the PSC, namely Helaluddin Ahmed and Md Shafiqul Islam, are unknown,’ the CA press wing claimed.

PSC PRO Matiur said that they had received resignation letters from PSC members ON Siddiqa Khanam, M Shameem Ahsan, Uttam Kumar Saha, Zahid ur Rashid, Mubina Khondkar, Delwar Hossain, KM Ali Azam, Md Khalilur Rahman, Syed Md Golam Faruk, Md Maksudur Rahman Patwari, Mst Nazmanara Khanum and Pradip Kumar Panday.

All the posts of the PSC, a constitutional organisation, have now fallen vacant.

Sohorab Hossain, a former education secretary, was appointed chairman of the PSC in September 2020 during the rule of Sheikh Hasina who fled the country amid a student-mass uprising recently.
