Bangladesh interim government chief adviser press secretary Shafiqul Alam on Sunday said Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former home minister of the deposed Sheikh Hasina government, was the butcher of Bangladesh.
‘Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal was the butcher of Bangladesh. He is one of the butchers behind the brutal killing of children, students, workers and rickshaw-pullers in Bangladesh,’ he told a press briefing at Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka this evening, replying to a question.
Alam questioned about the standard of media platforms running news items quoting him, saying no international media gives its space to a butcher.
Responding to another question, he said the interim government is taking all possible measures to bring back the money siphoned off during the Sheikh Hasina’s reign.
The press secretary said about US$ 234 billion was laundered during the fallen regime.
Deputy press secretaries Apurba Jahangir and Abul Kalam Azad Majumder were present at the press briefing.
