The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested three members of the banned militant group Hizb ut-Tahrir early Friday.
They were arrested during a drive in the capital鈥檚 Uttara at about 12:15am on Friday, said a press release by the DMP.
The arrested are- Monirul Islam, 40, Mohtasin Billah, 40, and Mahmudul Hasan, 21.
The arrested along with other members of the banned militant group, were planning to hold a rally titled 鈥楳arch For Khilafa鈥� in Baitul Mokarram Mosque area, said the release.
On information, a CTTC team conducted a drive in Uttara Sector 11 and 12, and arrested them.
A case was filed against the three arrested with Uttara West police station under the Anti-terrorism Act, the press release added.
