A Secondary School Certificate examinee was killed after a truck hit him in Uttara area in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.
The victim was crossing a road after participating in the exam on the day.
The deceased was identified as Nayeem, 17.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police鈥檚 Uttara (East) police station officer-in-charge Shamim Ahmed said that Nayeem was crossing the road in front of the Azampur BNS Centre at around 1:15pm.
At that time the truck hit him.
He was first taken to a nearby branch of the Popular Hospital and from there he was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The police officer said that Nayeem died there at around 3:20pm.
His body was sent to the DMCH morgue.
鈥榃e heard that on the day Nayeem鈥檚 SSC exam centre was Rajuk Uttara Model College,鈥� Shamim said.
He also said that they had seized the truck but the driver fled soon after the accident.
No case was filed yet, he added.
