
A Secondary School Certificate examinee was killed after a truck hit him in Uttara area in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.
The victim was crossing a road after participating in the exam on the day.
The deceased was identified as Nayeem, 17.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Uttara (East) police station officer-in-charge Shamim Ahmed said that Nayeem was crossing the road in front of the Azampur BNS Centre at around 1:15pm.
At that time the truck hit him.
He was first taken to a nearby branch of the Popular Hospital and from there he was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The police officer said that Nayeem died there at around 3:20pm.
His body was sent to the DMCH morgue.
‘We heard that on the day Nayeem’s SSC exam centre was Rajuk Uttara Model College,’ Shamim said.
He also said that they had seized the truck but the driver fled soon after the accident.
No case was filed yet, he added.
