
Adviser for posts, telecommunications, and information technology Nahid Islam on Sunday said that action would be taken against the officials, involved in shutting down internet, during the recent student protests.
He sounded the warning, while talking to journalists on the maiden day of joining his office at the secretariat in the capital.
Nahid said that those responsible for the internet shutdown during the protests would face consequences.
‘The access to internet is a right and disrupting or shutting down internet services is a violation of human rights,’ he added.
The information and communication technology division plannned to incorporate youth participation to fulfil the aspirations of the young generation, the advisor said.
