A Jubo League leader was hacked to death early Tuesday by unidentified group of people in Kaptai Upazila of Rangamati district in Bangladesh.
The deceased was identified as Obaid Ullah, 40, vice-president of Raikhali Union Jubo League.
Confirming the matter, Chandraghona police station officer-in-charge Muhamad Shahjahan Kamal said that the incident occurred in the Balukhali area of Raikhali union at about 11:00pm on Monday.
鈥楳iscreants attacked Obaid Ullah while he was returning home after closing his shop at Karigorpara Bazar in Balukhali,鈥� he said.
Obaid was later taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead at about 1:00am on Tuesday, the OC said.
鈥榃e are suspecting that he was murdered due to family dispute. The real reason would be known after an investigation,鈥� OC Shahjahan said.
The body was kept at the CMCH for autopsy while filing a case was under process regarding the incident, added the police official.
