
The Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC on Wednesday removed illegal gas connections and collected fines in different areas of Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Narsingdi and Gazipur.
As part of the regular drive, under the leadership of the executive magistrate and assistant commissioner for land, Gazaria, illegal removal drive was conducted through a mobile court in the Anarpura and Bhater Char areas, said a press release on Thursday.
In the drive, the connections of three lime factories were disconnected and 10 feet of MS pipe and 350 feet of hosepipe were removed and seized and the establishment was demolished.
On that day, under the leadership of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC’s regional revenue branch, Sonargaon, six residential and two commercial’s connections were disconnected in Mohanpur, Farajikanda and Bandar areas in Narayanganj. Â
In addition, under the leadership of regional revenue branch, Rupganj, an additional 30 double stoves were disconnected and Tk 2,52,000 was immediately collected from two customers.
Under the regional vigilance division, Gazipur, an establishment named M/s Eskimo Fashion, Tongi, was immediately disconnected due to the detection of an additional establishment than the one authorised, and the connection of M/s Narayanganj was disconnected by the special team of the regional vigilance division, Narayanganj, for using gas illegally by establishing an interconnection between both runs.
Illegal eviction activities have also been conducted through a mobile court in Sherpur area of ​​Shibpur of Narsingdi under the leadership of executive magistrate Rajib Das Purkayastha.
