Two persons, including a woman, were killed in lightning strikes in Lakshmipur, Noakhali districts on Sunday.
A woman was killed in the afternoon in a lightning strike in the Charfolkon area under Kamalnagar upazila of Lakshmipur.
The deceased is Shahnaj Begum, 55, wife of Faruk Hawlader, a resident of Charfalkon area of the upazila.
Shahnaj was struck by lightning while picking mangoes during the rain. She died on the spot.
Officer-in-charge of Kamalnagar police station Md Touhidul Islam confirmed the matter.
Meanwhile, a day labourer was killed by a thunderbolt at Jalyal village of ward no- 9 in Noakhali Municipality at noon.
The deceased is Nurul Amin Kala, 42, son of Nur Ahmed of Salyaghtaiya village in Sadar upazila.
The lightning followed by a rainstorm hit Nurul Amin at about 12.15pm when he was working in the area, said police inspector (investigation) of Sudharam model police station Abu Taher.
