An elderly man was arrested for allegedly raping a six-year-old boy at Baghmara upazila in Rajshahi on Sunday evening.
The arrested is Joynal Kha, 70, police said.
Touhidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Baghmara police, said that on Saturday morning, Joynal lured the child to a nearby piper betel plantation in the village with money and abused him there.
He said that they arrested Joynal at his residence on Monday evening after the child鈥檚 father had filed a case with the police station on Saturday night.
The police officer said that the accused had been sent to jail through a court on Tuesday noon, and the child to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for a medical examination.
