A court on Tuesday evening sent a man and his son to jail for allegedly raping a domestic worker in Chariakandi village under Salanga Thana in Sirajganj.
The accused are Jamser Fakir, 65, and his son Anarul Islam Mukta Fakir, 35.
Salanga police officer-in-charge Mokhlesur Rahman said that the victim, who had been employed at the residence of the accused for nearly five years, was allegedly raped and abused repeatedly by the house owner and his son. 聽
According to the victim鈥檚 family, the abuse allegedly made the woman two months pregnant, and after the incident came to light, her mother filed a case with the police station, said the OC. 聽
Later, the police arrested the accused and the court sent them to jail, the OC said, adding that the victim may be sent to the Civil Surgeon鈥檚 Office for a medical check-up on Wednesday.聽聽
