Speakers at a seminar on Saturday said that vitiligo was not a contagious disease, but it could be managed with proper treatment and awareness, says a press release.

The seminar on ‘Vitiligo Awareness’ was organised by the Public Health and Sciences Club of North South University in collaboration with Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited at the university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Speakers at the event highlighted these key points. The seminar’s chief guest was Dr. Fatema Tui Zohra, Associate Professor and Dermatologist at Enam Medical College and Hospital.


The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Deepak Kumar Mitra, Dean of the School of Health and Life Sciences at North South University. The welcome speech was delivered by Dr. S. M. Saidur Rahman Mashreky, Chairman of the Department of Public Health.

Incepta Pharmaceuticals’ Deputy General Manager (Marketing), Mostafa Kamal Pasha, and Senior Brand Manager, Nuzhat Tarannum, also addressed the seminar, focusing on vitiligo treatment and management. Dr. Aziz Bin Sharif, Faculty Advisor of the Public Health and Sciences Club at North South University, delivered the closing remarks.
